— Back in 2012, I started my first physical and online business, Kate’s Photography. I ran this business until I began school at the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2016. I went to this school to study Illustration, but I still enjoy photography in my free time. I find the process of taking and editing photos relaxing and enjoyable. The skills learned from photography editing translate well into my personal art, such as the use of color, light, and compositions. During the run of this business, another photographer and I were vendors at many festivals and fairs. We sold framed prints of our work and also marketed our photography services, such as event photography, group photos, and senior photos. I also created, designed, and advertised for an online store where we sold various products with our photography as designs. Running this business evolved my skills as an entrepreneur and helped me to become more confident in marketing myself.
